We believe the church is not something we create for Jesus, but something Jesus Himself is building through ordinary people surrendered to Him. 1 Peter 2:5 says, believers are “living stones” being built together into a spiritual house. Jesus takes broken, imperfect people and forms them into His Church—rooted in His presence, shaped by His Word, and dependent on His Spirit.
And as He builds us, He also sends us. We are not gathered merely to consume, but commissioned to live on mission in our neighborhoods, workplaces, homes, and city. The Stone exists to see lives in Tampa—and far beyond—built by Jesus and sent by Jesus for the glory of God and the good of the world.
OUR NAME
“Thus Far, the Lord has helped us…
Tampa is built on hidden stone. Beneath the sand, water, and flat coastline lies a massive limestone foundation holding up the entire peninsula. Most people never see it, but everything rests on it. We believe the same is true of the church.
Jesus is the Cornerstone, and His people are living stones being built together into something lasting.
In Scripture, an Ebenezer, or “stone of help,” is a reminder that God’s faithfulness in the past ensures His presence for the future. That’s why we’re called The Stone.
Every life changed, every gathering, every church planted — another stone set in place.

I'm Sage — husband to Mariah, dad to four, and someone who has spent years wondering why God kept pulling us back to Tampa.
Now I know.
We've lived in Florida, North Carolina, and Texas. Every stop shaped us. But Tampa Bay never left us. This city is growing, hungry, and ready — and we believe the most important thing we can do with our lives is plant a church here that builds people from Jesus and sends them into the world.
This isn't a calculated ministry move. It's an act of faith. We're trusting God to build this house, and we're inviting anyone who feels that same pull to come build it with us.
